Purpose Built Schools Atlanta is proud to be a lead delivery partner for Start:ME, an organization that strengthens underserved communities in metro Atlanta by empowering entrepreneurs to start and grow resilient microbusinesses.

“When local businesses thrive – generating income, creating jobs, occupying spaces, providing role models – their neighborhoods do, too,” said Mike Davis, CEO, Purpose Built Schools Atlanta. “Start:ME provides business training, mentorship, and grant investment capital, coupled with ongoing alumni support. We are proud to be a lead delivery partner helping make these microentrepreneurs’ dreams a reality.”

For 10 years, Start:ME has served local microbusinesses and communities, including Atlanta’s Southside. In partnership with Focused Community Strategies and Purpose Built Schools Atlanta, Start:ME Southside supports a diverse collection of in-town neighborhoods. The 90 local businesses Start:ME has served to date tap into the energy of Atlanta’s Southside. These businesses have generated $90 million in annual revenue and created/retained 174 jobs.

In 2024, Start:ME is supporting 56 diverse ventures, including 19 in the Southside cohort, and 5 led by entrepreneurs from our very own Purpose Built Schools Atlanta family:
